-- Competitive 'AA' --
The U18 Competitive program will have one (1) Competitive team (the AA Nashwaaksis Lions Club Lions). The coaching staff will be returning from last season - Head Coach Brett Eagles along with Assistant Coaches, Brook Eagles, Wendell Dempsey & Rob Little. 

The tryouts will occur prior to High School beginning their tryout sessions (prior to Sept. 20th - see dates listed below). All players interested in playing Competitive, even as a 'back-up plan', must attend the sessions below. The top 24-26 will  be published on October 17th, after the majority of High School tryouts have ended, to return the week of Oct. 19th for final tryouts.

There will either be 4 or 6 tryout teams. Rosters will be released on Sept. 6th

Fees for Skaters (Forward or Defense) = $150
Fees for Goaltenders = $75

The Hitting/Checking Clinic is mandatory for candidates who did not play in a Hitting/Checking league last season (U15C and/or U18 C - playing in a hitting/checking league in previous seasons does not exempt a skater from attending this course). Players who played in a Hitting/Checking league last season (U15 A/AA/AAA, U16 AAA, U18 A/AA/AAA or High School) do not have to attend this clinic. There is only one (1) Hitting/Checking clinic. Failure to attend removes the player from Competitive Tryouts.

Pre-Camp
- Skills'n Drills listed below  (optional / non-evaluation)
  - one session per player (expecting 80 skaters, 40 skaters per session)
  - session 1 (Group A - first 40 skaters) 
  - session 2 (Group B - second 40 skaters)
  - these sessions are optional for goaltenders
- Hitting Clinic (for skaters)

*** there is only one (1) Hitting/Checking clinic. Failure to attend removes the player from Competitive Tryouts - see the above paragraph on who is required to attend.

Jersey Pick-up is on the same nights as Pre-Camp events

-- Evaluation Process --
- Games will be three (3) 17 minute run-time period or possibly two (2) 25min periods.
  - Players will server their penalties, a substitute will be made so teams will remain 5-on-5
     - a player receiving a Major Penalty will be ejected from the game, but will be able to continue
        in the tryout process. Any suspension issued will be served in their first regular season game
        for the team they eventually land on (including High School).
  - Players in-game performance will be ranked by each evaluator based on a score of 1 to 5 (with 5 being the highest score)
  - Scores will be scaled over a candiate's camp;
     - their first half of their games will be averaged and weighted by .85
     - the second half of their games will be averaged and weighted by 1.15
  - Coaching staff scores carry a weight of 1.2 while independents are 1.0 and volunteers are .8
  - Players will not be scored zero if they miss an evaluation session - no score will be recorded.
